21.07.2016 | ECLPS Chooses Elation EPT6IP LED Displays for Annual Kiss 108 Summer Concert
East Coast Lighting & Production Services, Inc. (ECLPS) needed a high resolution video panel for two high-impact video displays for Boston-based radio station Kiss 108’s summer concert and used Elation Professional’s EPT6IP LED video panels for the design. Held June 18th at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, ECLPS supplied all of the lighting and video products for the annual summer event, which featured an impressive line-up of pop artists including Halsey, Flo Rida, Charlie Puth, The Chainsmokers, Iggy Azalea and Nelly.
Rhode Island-based ECLPS has handled lighting for the summer bash for over 25 years but this year was the first time they’ve provided the video system. ECLPS used 213 of the EPT6IP video panels for a large, upstage IMAG display (42’ wide x 19’ high) that showed graphics and live footage from the stage while a 22’ wide x 6’ high screen was used for a rolling DJ riser video façade.
“As always, the EPT6IP worked great and our client was very happy with the video setup and performance,” explains Nate Almeida of ECLPS, who has used the EPT6IP panels on a number of special events since they were added to ECLPS’s inventory in February of this year. “Everyone that was part of the production, from the video truck personnel to the stage hands, had nothing but great things to say about the EPT6IP. They especially commented on the pixel pitch and how easy it was to set up.” Nate designed the lighting and video looks for the show, working with lighting director and programmer Chris Griffin.
The 5000 Nit, 6.7mm pixel pitch EPT6IP displays are the LED panel and cross rental panel of choice in the U.S.’s upper northeast. Its rugged aluminum frame, modular quick assembly design, and IP65 rating have made it a popular go-anywhere solution. Video processing on the Kiss 108 show came from a pair of Elation-distributed Novastar NovaPro HD™ units.
Working with the EPT6IP panels and aimed out to the audience on the downstage truss were six Elation Cuepix Panel™ LED matrices. With 25 RGB LEDs on each panel and individually controllable pixels, they can be used for video or lighting to create a variety of effects from pixel mapping to incandescent-type looks to blinder effects.
