09.08.2016 | Elation ACL 360 Matrix Fills Many Roles at Europe’s re:publica Conference
Elation Professional’s ACL 360 Matrix™ moving head panel showed its versatility on the tenth edition of the re:publica Conference in Berlin, Europe's most popular conference on internet and society (think TED), which took place May 2-4 at historic Station-Berlin in the heart of the German capital.
The ACL 360 Matrix fixtures were used for a variety of purposes including background lighting for the stage, backlighting for camera and special effect lettering. They were also used to add decorative ambient fill lighting to the room. TSE AG of Berlin provided the rigging, sound and lighting for the event, including the Elation ACL 360 Matrix fixtures, which were used for the opening show. Lighting design was by Klaus Graewert.
The versatile 5 x 5 LED panel moving head houses 15W RGBW multi-chip LEDs and features continuous 360° rotation, a dense 4-degree beam from each lens and individual pixel control. They give a variety of effects possibilities from eye-candy looks to energetic chases to washes or more subtle looks.
Used on a circular stage design to light the stage scenery as well as the audience, the matrix look of the LED face and the multi-color beam from the 15W LEDs were the most important features of the effect light for the re:publica opening event, according to TSE AG’s company director Marcel Fery. Elation partner sld mediatec was the entertainment technology solutions provider responsible for sales to TSE AG on the project.
The re:publica conference program included talks and workshops covering a range of topics from net politics to virtual reality plus other topics relevant to the digital world. With 770 speakers and over 8,000 visitors, the growing event set another attendance record.
